Our Residential Centres

Live in a safe and structured environment while you address your needs and recover at your own pace, supported by staff and peers.

Our live-in residential centres provide a supportive space where you can begin your recovery journey in a structured environment. The Residential Program is delivered across two sites located in Eagle Vale and Ingleburn.

Our approach

From the moment you enter our Residential Program, you become part of a community committed to positive change.

We follow a therapeutic community model of care, where you will work together with staff and other residents to develop positive behaviours and attitudes essential for healthy living. Unlike traditional treatment programs, we integrate structured therapy sessions with everyday activities like cooking, house duties, exercise, and vocational training.

Your comprehensive support team may include alcohol and other drug workers, support workers, teachers, nurses, psychologists, social workers, case managers and welfare staff.

Our Residential Program is a low-cost option available to everyone. We differ from private facilities in that you will contribute a portion of your Centrelink payment towards costs, making the program accessible for everyone. Please bring your Medicare card with you.

Treatment costs include:

  • Payment for Withdrawal Unit (Detox) – $250 admissions fee, no further costs.
  • Payment for Residential Program – the above, plus 80% of your Centrelink benefit

If you do not receive a Centrelink benefit, please contact our Referral and Guidance Line to discuss – 1800 397 739
Where are you located?

We have two residential centres located in Eagle Vale and Ingleburn. Visit Our Locations page for more information.

How long do I stay?

Our goal is to help you recover long-term and transition back into the community. We offer the main 9-month program, as well as a shorter 12-week option, depending on your needs. We are focused on relapse prevention, which is why the full length of stay is tailored to your specific needs.

Will I have my own room?

Accommodation is dormitory style for males and females. If you are staying in our Family Recovery Centre, you will live in a private space with your children (under 12) and partner with shared communal and kitchen facilities.

Can people visit me?

We encourage visits from family and friends, as we know they are an essential part of your support network. Visits generally occur between 1- 5pm on Sundays, in line with your privileges, although this can be adjusted in line with particular needs, for example children’s visits. For the safety of our residents, all visitors must be registered prior to attending. Unexpected visitors are not allowed on the premises.

Can I leave the centre throughout the day?

Your safety is our top priority. As you move through the program, privileges, including pass outs and weekend leave, will be earned and negotiated.

What is a therapeutic community?

A therapeutic community empowers residents to take ownership of their recovery while also taking on shared responsibilities with staff and other residents.

In a therapeutic community residents and staff participate in the management and operation of the community, contributing to a psychologically and physically safe learning environment where positive change can occur.

The key element of a therapeutic community is the fact that your peers, the other residents in the program, who have had similar experiences to you, are also providing you with support.

Do I have to do the detox?

The term detox may sound confronting; however, the purpose of Medically Assisted Detox is to safely manage withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking drugs or alcohol. It is the first step of residential recovery and a critical component of relapse prevention. The short stay in the Withdrawal Unit also provides an opportunity to discuss your needs and commence any medical supports you may require. Your withdrawal program will be developed in partnership with the doctor, who will also develop a medical care plan and will support you throughout your stay at the residential centre.
